APPEC 2007 to Host Inaugural Energy Business Awards, Asia
Elite Global Energy Awards to recognize excellence in Asian Energy Marketplace

Singapore/London -The Energy Business Awards (EBA), in association with the Asia-Pacific Petroleum Conference (APPEC), are pleased to announce the inaugural Energy Business Awards, Asia (EBAA) to be presented during the 23rd APPEC in Singapore, 11-13 September 2007.
These are the first regional awards to be conferred by EBA and recognise the critical contribution being made by the Asia marketplace to the global energy complex. Asia is both the world's fastest growing energy market, as well as playing a significant role in the fast growing environmental markets through the development of CDM projects.

As with the annual EBAs, now in their sixth year, the EBAA reward excellence in energy business and are open to all companies with a physical and/or financial presence in Asia, or with ongoing energy projects in the region. For the inaugural EBAA there are four awards: Energy Company of the Year; Excellence in Energy Trading and Risk Management; Excellence in Energy Broking; and, Excellence in Environmental Markets.

The EBAA is a two-stage process, comprising a nomination period followed by voting on a shortlist of five nominees in each award category. The nomination period is now open and will close on Friday 29 June, with voting open from Monday 2 July until Friday 3 August. Companies can either nominate themselves or be nominated by a third party, with the EBAA Awards Panel determining the short listed nominees from the nominations received.
Full information on the awards is available at the EBA website http://www.energy-business.com/

Nominations and voting can only be made through the official EBA website.
